What is mediation? How does it work?
Mediation has a very high success rate. Mediation is a productive, effective and private approach to resolving issues in a more timely and cost efficient way compared to court. It involves a neutral person (Mediator), who does not have any stake in the outcome. The mediator facilitates a conversation among parties with the goal of reaching a mutual agreement in which, both parties are satisfied. A mediator is NOT a judge, jury or advocate. During the process, it is common for mediators to meet with both parties together, or with each party individually. There is no requirement that a client’s cases have legal issues or have pending cases in court.
